- Conceive, design, and run optical computations of HUD in cooperation with suppliers
- Adapt the design, with due consideration of optical and thermal requirements, to various interfaces in the entire vehicle (dashboard, shell, windshield, cockpit cable harness)
- Define quality control measures in cooperation with suppliers
- Test components and analyze results (in-house and at supplier premises)
- Analyze optical performance of windshields for HUDs
- Investigate reflection of glass covers; integrate into HUD screen layout for the dashboard
- Conceive and design alternative lighting sources and modular systems
- Design windshield frames and test bays for optical measurement of HUDs
- Prepare photorealistic images with CATIA V5 for ghosting analyses
- Prepare and execute the approval process for the geometry
- Operate the HUD lab to assure protection of development systems (metrology, measurement, software and hardware concerning development of the test bench)
